Our Story
Going back, together this time
The Plotz family is returning to a ship they once called home. Matt served as Chief Cook aboard Logos Hope from 2016 to 2018, leading a team of volunteers who fed a crew of 350 or more from over sixty nations. When that season ended, Matt and Boody came home to Texas and started a family.
The call back came slowly, then all at once. This past January, Matt woke up and told Boody about a dream he'd had of being back on the ship. That same morning, out of nowhere, an old friend from the ship reached out asking if they'd ever consider coming back. It felt like God opening a door.
A conversation with the ship's shore-based catering director in Germany followed, then an invitation to visit. In March 2026, the whole family flew out to see the ship for themselves, and by the end of that visit, they knew.
This time, the calling isn't just Matt's. It's the whole family's, together.
What each of us will be doing

Matt — Catering Services Department HeadLeads the team that feeds a crew of 400+ and thousands of visitors in every port, working alongside the Chief Cook, Storekeeper, and I-Cafe Team Leader.
